WIRELESS MONITORING SYSTEM by James Humphris
--------------------------------------------

Everyday Practical Electronics, February 1999

This fantastic wireless monitoring system is a superb quality
radio-linked short-range data capture/ logging system
using pre-aligned fully compliant a.m. radio frequency
transmitters.

It is centred around a PIC 16C71A and can be used to monitor
the activity of virtually any number of control loops within
a small area - e.g.a round a house, or in a classroom, laboratory
or workshop. The beauty of the design is in its incredible
flexibility!

It has been designed to comply with UK Government Home Office
regulation MPT1340, and it does not need a licence for use in the UK.
A Windows(R) PC (W3.x/ 95/ 98) is required to display the recorded data.
Overseas readers must check the radio transmitter regulations
governing use in their own country.

A surface mount device is used in the compact transmitter modules
which requires some experience to solder successfully.

This is a top class design which will have instant appeal for
the more experienced constructor, yet it is comparitively simple
to construct.
