Versatile Event Counter by John Becker
--------------------------------------

Everyday Practical Electronics/ ETI April 1999

This PIC-powered design is capable of monitoring the
timing of a whole variety of events. The results are displayed
a liquid crystal display. Input via a panel-mounted switch, or
a jack-socket to external circuits, or by a microphone - the design
has been found to be extremely responsive to some astonishingly low
level audio sources detected by microphone.

Displays elapsed time(s) and frequency count. Useful for
musicians, rowing rates, object counting and so on.

The latest version of the BASIC program listing and PIC 16C84 source codes are
available from ftp://ftp.epemag.wimborne.co.uk/pub/PICS/eventcounter.
